Today It Was Time To Head Home But Before I Did I Saw I Man Rolling A Cigar And Had To Show You How It Is Done.Friday, November 28th, 2008
Have you ever seen a cigar rolled? Well while in the Juan Santamaria International Airport waiting to go home there was a man rolling cigars for show and for sale. I thought why not bring it to you I hope you enjoy it.
Today while touring San Jose, Costa Rica I stopped in McDonald’s to see if it was like the ones back home when I noticed off to the side of the restaurant was an entirely different establishment yet the same and that place was “McCafe.” I had never seen anything like it in a McDonald’s in any of the other country’s that I have visited a low cost coffee boutique with high quality coffee and pastries. One of my first thoughts was if they had these in the U.S. they could kill Starbucks. With the economic downturn and people still wanting their fancy coffee drinks McCafe could be the Starbucks of the future. Take a look and tell me what you guys thinks, is Starbucks in trouble?
Today I are stuck in San Jose after my flight yesterday had to make an emergency landing back at the Juan Santamaria International Airport and unable to get another flight out that day. So today I am going to take full advantage of the additional time and tour downtown San Jose.
Today Delta Flight 414 Had To Make An Emergency Landing Back At The Juan Santamaria International AirportSaturday, November 22nd, 2008
Today about 20 minutes after taking off from Juan Santamaria International Airport heading back to the United States one of our engines on our plane Delta flight 414 lost oil pressure and we had to make an emergency landing back in San Jose. It was a bumpy landing being that it was made with only one engine but we landed safely and didn’t really have a concept of how serious the situation was unto we were on the ground and saw all of the emergency services vehicles.
Today after making my way through the countryside of Costa Rica I arrived back in the big city of San Jose for one last night in country before heading back to the states. After visiting a couple of hotels in the downtown area only to find out they were booked solid I went to the Hotel Centro Colon about 1km from downtown. I was a bit disappointed that we weren’t right in the thick of things but the view was amazing so I thought I would bring it to you.
When I have traveled over the years I have had numerous people ask me where I stay and ask that I recommend hotels, inns, and hostels for them so I thought I would show the Hotel Playa Westfalia the seaside lodge where I stayed while on the Costa Rican Caribbean coast.
Today I take you to a small little Costa Rican eatery called a soda and this particular one is the Soda Isma. Soda Isma serves traditional Costa Rican food and drinks. So after a long day full of exciting sites and relaxing surf I sat down to have a plate of chicken casada and a blended fruit drink.
