Today we go for a walk along the San Elijo Reserve Nature Trail and Ecological Park. There are beautiful views and the possibility of seeing exciting wildlife.

Today during our cross country road trip we stop at the Imperial Sand Dunes in California see motorcycles poppin’ wheelies, four wheelers ripping through the sand and we hike up sand dunes to see a little desert wildlife and get a better look of the dunes.

In the dead of winter cattle still have to eat even if the ground is frozen and they unable or unwilling to graze so you have to get bales of hay and bring them out to them so they have food to eat. So today we get to see how to load bales and the cows eat. Another great morning on the ranch.

Today we visit the Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene Kansas and see the Mamie Eisenhower Gallery. His wife First Lady Mamie Eisenhower was a style icon of her day and we are going to take a look at some those historic vintage fashions. We get to see hats, her casual wear, formal gowns and even her wedding dress from 1916. Anyone interested in vintage fashion or fashions of U.S. Presidential First Ladies will love seeing these great pieces of fashion history.

Chopping Ice On The Ranch In Colorado

Today we are on the ranch in Colorado and we are chopping ice. It’s winter and the pond freezes but the herd still has to drink so we head over to the now frozen pond and break through the layer of ice. Luckily we have our resident ice chopping expert with us to show us how it’s done and I even pick up the axe and give it a try.

Today We Visit Ferguson, Mo and see the Mike Brown Memorial and the Ferguson Police Department

Ferguson, Mo has been in the news for months over the killing for Mike Brown by a now former Ferguson police officer. Today we visit the town to see the Mike Brown Memorial, the police department and some of the destruction caused by the riots. As a pleasant surprise we discover that while many of the cities businesses have their windows boarded up those boards are very decorative and used as an opportunity to bring beauty and inspiration to the community.

The Acme Feed and Seed Host the Justin Hiltner and Friends Band

In beautiful Nashville Tennessee we stop at the Acme Feed and Seed and were treated to a wonderful musical surprise as the Justin Hiltner and Friends Band played. I had the shrimp and grits but all the food looked really good. It’s does all look like heavy southern cooking what I like to call hangover food so while I’m sure you can get a light salad or something why do it? get a meal that you have to earn that you have to work off.

Tennessee State Capital Korean War Memorial and Other Stuff

Today we visit the Tennessee State Capital and check out the Korean War Memorial, The Vietnam War Memorial and the World War I Memorial. We also check out the state Christmas Tree and the State seal.
